Wine Tasting Report Nov. 14, 2009

Lots of sipping and slurping at the Porsche club wine tasting in November at Faith and Steve Wassersug’s. The group sampled and rated 13 wines and enjoyed a wide assortment of exotic and luscious cheeses. Three grouping of wines kept tasters busy: heavier reds, lighter reds, and whites. Here’s the information about the group’s favorites.

REDS:
Hands down favorite: TAMAYA 2005 Merlot Reserve 2 (Limari Valley Chile) Estate Bottled $22.00
(silver – 4th annual wines of chile awards-2004)

Second Place: LOUIS.M.MARTINI 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon (Sonoma County) $13.00 (at Costco)

Third Place: LE COLOMBIER 2007 Vacqueyras Vieilles Vign (Cotes du Rhone-Villages, France) $17.00 (Total Wine)

WHITES:
First Place: MEZZACORONA 2008 Pinot Grigio Vigneti delle Dolomiti IGT (Product of Italy) $9.95
